About Me

I’m Kalman Honig (he/him), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in New York and New Jersey. From a young age, I felt drawn to supporting others — fascinated by people’s inner worlds and naturally inclined toward empathy, deep understanding, and connection. Today, I feel honored to be doing work that aligns with my life’s purpose: helping others find growth, healing, and harmony in their lives and relationships.

I believe it’s important to practice what I bring into the therapy room. For me, this means daily meditation and mindfulness, engaging in ongoing introspection and inner child healing, and continually processing emotions from both past and present experiences. These practices help me cultivate a more balanced, compassionate, and authentic relationship with myself, which in turn supports the work I do with clients.

Training & Experience

To best serve my clients, I’ve completed over 100 hours of training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as Levels 1 and 2 of Attachment-Focused EMDR. I remain committed to ongoing consultation and professional development in these and other modalities, continually deepening and diversifying my practice so I can offer both skillful guidance and genuine presence.

Volunteering has always been an important way for me to channel my natural inclination to support others. Over the years, I have facilitated meditation groups and served as a counselor and mentor for adolescents who had left school, helping them build their confidence and self-esteem as they earned their GED.

Beyond Therapy

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy playing basketball, hiking, dancing, singing, reading, and meditating — habits of heart, body, and mind that keep me grounded, joyful, and connected.
